ROMARIA DO MUQUÉM

Padre Ademir falou que mais ou menos por volta do século xvIIIi havia ouro no muquém.
A Romaria do Muquém existe desde o século XVIII do período da mineração e da escravidão. É tradição há mais de 200 anos, desde 1748, é considerada uma das maiores do mundo e a celebração religiosa a mais antiga de Goiás. Os romeiros fazem o percurso de 45 quilômetros carregando a imagem de Nossa Senhora da Abadia saindo da cidade de Niquelândia seguem pela Rodovia da Fé fazendo o percurso com início na Igreja Matriz da Paróquia São José, passando pela Paróquia Nossa Senhora da Abadia e terminando no Santuário de Muquém.
A procissão ocorre durante toda a noite e termina com a chegada dos romeiros ao Santuário, dando início à romaria que prossegue durante 10 dias. Ao longo da Rodovia da Fé há as estações da Via Sacra com monumentos que representam o calvário de Cristo. Essa Rodovia é um cenário de peregrinos que percorrem muitos quilômetros a pé, a cavalo, motocicleta, ou de carros pagando promessas. Essas pessoas vão pagar suas promessas pelas graças alcançadas de Deus por intercessão de Nossa Senhora D’Abadia.

PILGRIMAGE Muqui
